More InformationUnpublished report on the restoration and re-siting of Reclining Figure, 1963-1965 bronze by C. Roussel, Inc. carried out August through November 1982. A final report is scheduled at the conclusion of the work. Consists of colour photographs and typewritten reports (with some sketches and black and white photographs). With expansion and contraction over the years the two-part sculpture had developed cracks and water-seepage caused by concrete interior ballast. The Henry Moore Foundation advanced £100,000 for removal of the ballast and repair to the bronze, and the insertion of a waterproof membrane. Lead ingots will be positioned into the interior for ballast, and the sculpture will undergo general repair and re-patination before being returned to its site.
