Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Kansas City

The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art holds one of largest collections of works by Henry Moore in the world, and includes examples of every medium the artist experimented with during his career. The museum houses sculptures, drawings, graphics, tapestries and one textile work, and several large bronzes can be seen in the Donald J. Hall Sculpture Park. The park was originally named the ‘Henry Moore Sculpture Garden’ but was renamed after Donald J. Hall Sr, a great philanthropist and collector of Moore’s work, and the Chairman of Hallmark Cards. In 1996 The Hall Family Foundation gifted their entire collection, including 57 works by Henry Moore, to the Nelson-Atkins Museum. The park contains the largest collection of Moore's monumental bronzes in the United States: twelve sculptures sit alongside works by Alexander Calder, Claes Oldenburg, Coosje van Bruggen, Auguste Rodin and Robert Morris.
