During the mid-1950s Moore took a number of 1930s sketchbook pages, mostly pencil studies, which he redrew in a mixture of other media. Though each has been given a 1930s date on stylistic grounds, it is not possible to ascribe them to any particular sketchbook. Where a more specific connection is known, a cross reference has been added. See also the first 18 drawings of 1955 and HMF 2851 and the following 12 drawings of 1956.
