Drawn with the eyes shut, see HMF 81(362) and 81(363) and Introduction to Henry Moore Complete Drawings Volume 5 1977-81, Lund Humphries, London 1994, page.x.:

One particular way of drawing which gave Moore great amusement is what is referred to as shut-eye. Many of these drawings date from 1980, and on the back of a 1981 drawing he described how this came about: 'As students, a group of us used to play a game called shut-eye-golf'. Some years later remembering this I amused myself on occassions by drawing without looking at the lines I was making on the paper and this led to drawing an idea with my eye closed - a simple subject - say a woman reading or a mother holding a child - a man smoking - with one's eyes closed only the essentials stand out and the details disappear and although the rationalistic proportions go wrong - yet as in a good caricature, the peculiar character is emphasised.'
