Published as a book in deluxe and standard editions, this first volume of the Catalogue of Graphic Work contains 206 entries numbered 1 to 206. All graphics completed or begun by the end of 1972 are catalogued. There is a foreword in English, French and German, a list of catalogue references, a list of publishers and an index of prints. Like the three subsequent volumes of the catalogue, it gives a description of each print and illustrates them in black and white, or in colour where the original is in colour. The deluxe edition contains the etching CGM 188 and the lithograph CGM 294.

310 x 235mm: 436 unnumbered pages in 218 sheets perfect bound in brown linen with the title blocked in cream on the spine, in a laminated paper dust jacket with the title and a reproduction of a colour proof of CGM 240 (detail) on the front, and text in English, French and German on the flaps, contained in a brown linen-covered slip-case. CGM 188 and CGM 294 are in paper folders inserted between the front endpapers.
